Silvia Oddo (1979) studied psychology at the University of Bielefeld (1998 - 2003). During her studies she got a one year foreign exchange scholarship and studied at the University of Bicocca, Milan, Italy. At the same time, she worked in the neurological department of the San Paolo university hospital in the field of dementia and apraxia. Her thesis was about apraxia, a disorder in the imitation of movements in focal brain lesioned patients. She graduated in February 2003. Since February 2003 she is working in the interdisciplinary research group “Memory and Remembering” at the Kulturwissenschaftliches Institut, Essen (KWI), affiliated with the CMR. Her research mainly focuses on the brain mechanisms underlying time-related autobiographical memory retrieval in adolescents and is based on functional magnetic resonance tomography (fMRT) as well as on socio-psychological interviews. Parts of her researches were done at the University of Bielefeld and the Research Centre Jülich. Actually Silvia Oddo is working on publications of the FMRT data and aims to finish her PhD at the University of Bielefeld in summer 2006.
