Anne-Katrin Lang

Anne Lang is a Junior Fellow at the Institute for Advanced Studies in the Humanities in Essen (KWI) since 2008 and has since been affiliated to the Center for Memory Research at KWI. She is working on a PhD thesis about the „House of European History“ in Brussels supervised by Professor Claus Leggewie.

Anne studied Political Science, Psychology and German Studies at the University of Gießen. Apart from her studies she worked for newspapers, a public broadcasting station and cultural institutions abroad such as the Goethe Institute in Genoa, Italy and the German Cultural Institute in Tartu, Estonia. Having completed her Master’s Degree in 2007 she was granted a scholarship by the Robert-Bosch-Foundation in order to lead a project in Saint Petersburg, Russia, designed to compare the cultures of collective memory in Russia and Germany.

Her main research interests are the politics of history, the cultures of collective memory as well as European collective identities.
