Jorit Neubert

Jorit Neubert studied Sinology, European Ethnology and Archaeology in Cologne, Hangzhou (China) and Kiel. He graduated with a study of the Generation Gap in China between the Generations born before the Cultural Revolution and after the Opening of China in 1978.

Since 2009 he is an Associate Junior Fellow at the Institute for Advanced Studies in the Humanities in Essen (KWI) and participates as a PhD candidate in the project 'Climate and Culture'. For him, the research focus lies on the phenomenon of the 'shifting baselines', a term describing the way human perception changes as the environment changes.
